Thank you for considering one of our adoptable pets.
Rescuing a homeless pet can be the best experience of your life.
Before you fill out an application please review the following
rules:
- We only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, Minnesota
- We have a strict NO DECLAW policy for all of our cats and
kittens
- The adoption process concludes with a contract for adoption
which includes a strict return to Underdog policy if you can no
longer keep the pet. Adoption fees are not
refundable, even if the placement is not successful.
To ensure successful adoptions we suggest that you fully research
the bred of cat or dog you are interested in. Not all breeds
are equal in physical energy, health, and temperament, thus knowing
what kind of pet will fit with your lifestyle is tantamount for
happy and successful placements.
Adopting a pet is not only an emotional commitment, but a
financial commitment as well. Keep in mind that all pets need
annual medical services which will vary depending on the
veterinarian. You should expect to spend at least $200 - $400
per year beyond food.
Upon receiving your application we will contact you for a home
visit and family meeting.

Thank you for considering becoming a foster home for a pet
waiting for their new home. Fostering homeless companion
animals is a rewarding and life-altering experience. Before
you fill out an application please consider the following:
- We work hard to match foster homes with appropriate pets
- Foster pets will remain in your home until an appropriate
home is found which can take as little as a week or a long as
several months
- Each foster home will have an opportunity to review adoption
applications for their foster pet
As a foster home you will become an intricate part of the
rehabilitation process for our companion animals. Part of a
foster home's responsibility is to work on training, socialization,
and trust-building with animals who may have not had a great start
in life.
Underdog Rescue believes in crate training its dogs, therefore,
you will be provided with a crate if needed. We also provide
food and medical for all foster animals.
Upon receiving your application we will contact you for a home
visit.
