Underdog Rescue could not survive without the support and commitment of our wonderful volunteers. In fact, all of our staff members are volunteers. If you are visiting this page, you understand the value of volunteering, both for the organization and for yourself.
Thank you for considering Underdog Rescue to meet this goal. Please look at the opportunities we have listed, but also consider the expertise you already have (accounting, fundraising, organizational development and planning, construction, web-design, etc.) and whether that expertise could help us meet our mission.
foster homes
If you have room in your home and in your heart for a temporary pet, we have the need for safe, loving, and committed homes. The commitment to become a foster home will consist of making room in your family for a new member, making time to take foster pets to vet appointments or adoption days, and making a safe and supportive environment for animals that may have had traumatic pasts.
Ask any one of our current foster homes this is a great way to help pets find their forever home. What better way to make a difference in many lives than to make adoptions possible. Every week our organization has to make difficult decisions about which dogs and cats we can save from euthanasia. Unfortunately, we are not able to save every adoptable animal held in animal control facilities from euthanasia because of our limited number of foster homes. If you want to become a part of the solution, consider becoming a foster home.
Underdog Rescue will provide food and crates to foster homes for the animal to use during their stay. On average our sponsored pets remain in our care for 2-4 weeks. If you are interested, please go to the applications page and fill out a foster application.
